Beauty Blender Dupe!

I jumped on the Beauty Blender train when it first came out quite a few years ago. Sponges have always been a popular way of applying foundation, but the Beauty Blender changed the game! The Beauty Blender is sold at Sephora as well as other popular beauty stores. They run about $20.00 for ONE sponge!! But, before other companies started making similar products, twenty bucks was so worth it!

The Beauty Blender changed my foundation application drastically! Applying foundation was so much easier, and flawless. The Beauty Blender blends the foundation in seamlessly and creates the perfect finish on the skin!

^^Obviously I've used the crap out of mine^^

So, I was using the Beauty Blender for about a 2 years, before other companies started manufacturing similar sponges. Many of the sponges that are being made are TERRIBLE! Nothing had compared to the Beauty Blender, UNTIL....The Precision Blending Sponge (Found at Marshall's & TJMaxx)

Most of the sponges that are being made are a very different shape and texture. Most are much denser, and very uncomfortable to use on your skin.

Most of the sponges that are claiming to be dupes for the Beauty Blender are shaped like an hourglass.. BEWARE! These are NOT the ones you want to purchase!! They are very stiff and do not apply foundation evenly.

Many people bought these and have said they are a great sponge, but they have not tried the Beauty Blender or the Precision Blending Sponge that is not in this hourglass shape.

Now, the maker of the Precision Blending Sponge makes a few different types of sponges. The majority of their sponges are in the hourglass shape.. STAY AWAY! Those are the ones you want to avoid. The only sponge that is worth the purchase is the sponge that is in the EGG shape!!

This product is a TOTAL DUPE for the Beauty Blender and rings up around $6!!! That's about a third of the price of the Beauty Blender!
These sponges are sometimes hard to find, but I recommend checking Marshall's and TJMaxx. If you can't find it, just keep checking back! It took me a couple tries to find this sponge at Marshall's.
Don't be tempted to buy the hourglass shaped sponges!!

The Precision Blending Sponge in my opinion is the exact same, or even a little BETTER than the Beauty Blender! The application is seamless and leaves a perfect glowing finish to your skin!

TIPS:
  • Don't forget to WET your Sponge before using it! It will come very small and dry, but after your run it under cool water and squeeze out the excess water, it will double in size and become bouncy!

  • Using a damp sponge is very beneficial to those with dry skin as well!! It helps calm and smooth the dry skin.

  • When using the Beauty Blender or the Precision Beauty Sponge, always remember to use bouncing motions to apply foundation. Rubbing and swirling WILL NOT WORK! Bounce the sponge up and down, all over the face, until the foundation is spread evenly!

  • The Sponges come with two different ends, one larger for bigger areas of the face, and a pointed end for blending in small areas such as under the eyes and around the nose!
