I've done a couple posts like this before, but just recently I did a new DIY with mason jars. I always have a bunch of different sizes and styles of mason jars laying around, from all the canning my family does.
I saw on ETSY these painted and distressed mason jars and thought, why pay money for something I can make myself?
These are SUPER easy to make, they just take a little time and effort. These are just a few of the different ones I painted and decorated.
THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
- Mason Jars
- Sand paper
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Personal Preference Decor Items
MASON JAR VASE:
- Make sure your mason jar is CLEAN and then using the sand paper scratch up the glass a little bit, so the paint will stick better.
- Choose your paint color.
- Paint 1 thin coat of paint all over the jar, let dry
- Paint 2nd coat, let dry. (repeat until desired opacity)
- After completely dry, if you want a "distressed" look use sand paper to scratch off some of the paint.
- I added twine around the top of the jar, just using a glue gun.
- Add your flowers:) (real or fake)
GOLD STACKING MASON JARS:
- Make sure your mason jar is CLEAN and then using the sand paper scratch up the glass a little bit, so the paint will stick better.
- Choose your paint color.
- Paint 1 thin coat of paint all over the jar, let dry
- Paint 2nd coat, let dry. (repeat until desired opacity)
- STACK!
MAKEUP BRUSH CANDLE JAR HOLDER:
- Make sure your mason jar is CLEAN and then using the sand paper scratch up the glass a little bit, so the paint will stick better.
- Choose your paint color. I used silver, with sparkle paint over the top.
- Paint 1 thin coat of paint all over the jar, let dry
- Paint 2nd coat, let dry. (repeat until desired opacity)
- Add decor, I used dried star fish I got from "REAL DEALS ON HOME DECOR" in a pack of like 8?
Hope you try some of these out!
Hope you enjoyed today's post!
