What is Clarisonic?
Clarisonic is a very well known company who has designed cleansing devices that have been quite popular for a few years now. They have 5 different devices, but the one I'm going to be talking about today is the Clarisonic Mia 2.
Now, a lot of people have jumped on the Clarisonic band wagon, but some people are still on the fence about purchasing something so expensive to do a simple task like washing your face. Since the Clarisonic came out, a lot of other brands have been making very similar devices for a cheaper price, but are those really the same as the Clarisonic?
You can purchase the Clarisonic Mia 2 at a variety of different stores now, but I still recommend buying it straight from the Clarisonic web site. Along with getting a great cleansing device you also get to chose from a ton of different colors and patterns! But, of course with options comes more $$$!
The Standard Clarisonic Mia 2 colors cost $150, but some of the other colors or patterns cost $159.
I used to work in the drug store, so I experienced first hand the hardships people had with trying to decide whether to purchase the Clarisonic or one of the cheaper alternative versions. Drug Store Brands such as Olay, and No7 came out with similar brushes about a year ago and many people have found them to be satisfying. The only thing is, those people haven't even tried the Clarisonic!

Here's what Clarisonic's website says about the Mia 2...
"Cleansing is the essential first step in a healthy skin care ritual. The patented Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Brush uses a sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to deeply cleanse the skin far more effectively, yet more gently, than traditional superficial cleansing or simple rotating brushes. The result is noticeably smoother, more radiant skin." | ||||||
My Experience:
Testing out the Clarisonic takes about 2 months. The first month, all most everyone's skin will become worse. Now, I know this sounds horrible but the Clarisonic is PULLING all of the impurities out of your skin that have been built up over the years. I call it "Purging". Throughout that process it's very important to KEEP USING your Clarisonic! After that stage was over, my skin was changed forever! The Clarisonic makes my skin feel and look smoother as well as helped with keeping breakouts under control. Now, I'm not saying this will make you never ever have a breakout again, it just helps in deep cleansing and purifying your skin in hopes to REDUCE your breakouts. |
What comes with the Mia 2?
- Clarisonic Device
- Sensitive Brush Head
- Charger
- Protective Plastic Case
- Travel Size Clarisonic Cleanser
- 2 Year Warranty
Tips:
- Figure out what skin type you have FIRST!
- Chose the right brush head! There are 5 different brush heads you can purchase, so chose which one is right for you!!
- When starting off, use a GENTLE cleanser!
- After using the device make sure you are putting good things back into your skin! Moisturizers and serums are SO important!
- Only use the Clarisonic as much as your skin can handle. Over exfoliation can lead to problems such as, irritation or drying of the skin.
- Be Patient! Having great skin takes time!
Final Thoughts?
If you're someone who is unsure about purchasing something like this, I would say try the drug store versions FIRST. If you enjoy those then move up to the Clarisonic. But if you're like me, I knew I was going to love the Clarisonic. If you're struggling with blemishes or if you feel your skin isn't getting clean enough just with your hands, I highly recommend the Mia 2.
I always recommend doing a lot of research on products you want to purchase. The beauty of the Internet is that there are tons of people just like YOU that have helpful tips, tricks, and comments about any product on the market!
